Votto in the 2nd Half

Votto hit over .400 in the 2nd half this year, the first time a player has done that since Ichiro Suzuki hit .429 in the 2nd half of 2004 en route to breaking the single-season hits record. (Ichiro had 145 hits that year...AFTER the All-Star break.)

Since 1901, only three players have ever actually hit .380 with a .500 OBP in a season: Ted Williams (twice), Rogers Hornsby, and Babe Ruth.

For Votto's full 2016 season, he hit 25 or more homeruns while maintaining a .400-plus OBP for the fifth time in his career. Frank Robinson and Joe Morgan are the only other Reds to have done it more than once:
